Evil Dead 2: The Boardgame is a wild romp through the cult classic film. Players fend off Deadites, search the cabin for items and Necronomicon pages, and attempt to close the portal before evil is unleashed upon the world. But beware! You can't trust everyone, and at a moment's notice you might find that your allies are working for evil.

Evil Dead 2 is a semi-cooperative boardgame with a hidden traitor element. Players must investigate the cabin and fight off Deadites while trying not to be turned evil themselves. If the players manage to shut the portal, they win.

Gameplay
It's time for a little stay at a cabin in the woods. Sounds nice and relaxing, doesn't it? What's the worst that could happen?

Evil Dead 2: the Board Game is a hidden identity action game for 1 - 6 players. Yeah, you read that right. We said 1 - 6 players. Groovy, right? But we'll get back to that later. In the standard game (which requires a minimum of 3 players), players are wandering around the cabin and surrounding woods, attempting to find the pages of the Necronomicon to seal the deadite portal. There's only one problem, besides the deadites popping up everywhere of course, and that's the fact the one or more of the players might be a deadite as well!

1. Search For Items

2. Battle Deadites

3. Evil Can Get In You, And Turn You BAD!!!

4. Battle Your Former Friends

5. Seal The Portal (Or Open It!)

6. Save The World

As the game goes on, players will acquire corruption cards if they get attacked by deadites or if they use the magic of the Necronomicon too much. Getting too close to evil can cause you to turn bad. If you get a single deadite corruption card, you'll become a deadite yourself, and then you're trying to open the portal instead of close it. The first team to use the pages of the Necronomicon to achieve their goal wins the game.

Since the previous edition of the game has been out for a couple years, here are some links to whet your appetite. We've got a copy of the previous rulebook as well as a link to the BGG page where you can read about the game.

What's New

So what's all this about "old" rulebook? And that thing about being for 1 - 6 players? Or maybe you just want to know what's the latest and greatest goodies we're adding to the box? Well, we definitely have some treats in store. After all, we couldn't just release the same game. That's not our style.

We had several conversations about how we wanted to do this release, and what we might be able to offer gamers who are and fans of the franchise. We wanted to make this the most complete version of the board game available. At the same time, we didn't want to add a bunch of content that backers of the original game couldn't get their hands on.

  • First and foremost, this will offer all of the elements of the original board game currently available. This means that each pledge will contain what was the original base game as well as the Extras Pack.
  • The game is getting a graphical update, particularly with the game board to make it easier to see the different areas when you're playing the game.
  • We are giving the miniatures an upgrade. While they will be the same sculpts, all the miniatures in the box will be pre-shaded. This accentuates the miniatures and really makes them pop on the table.
  • Solo/Coop mode! We have developed a cooperative version of the game that lets you play either by yourself or with others in true cooperative fashion without the possibility of a traitor. This was a highly requested feature we couldn't include in the original game, but we're including it now.
  • Finally, we have some really cool Evil Dead 2 dice from Dispel Dice. These are handmade and limited edition!
